Get Your Child's Plan

YOU'RE NOT ALONE!

You’ve tried everything. You read at night, tried online programs, maybe even hired a tutor, but your child is still struggling. They guess at words, lose their place, and say they hate reading. Deep down, you’re wondering what you’re missing.

Most struggling readers aren’t getting the daily, structured practice their brain needs to make reading click. The good news is that reading difficulties can be overcome with the right plan—one that’s systematic, personalized, and grounded in the Science of Reading.

That’s exactly what you’ll get inside The Reading Roadmap: a clear, individualized plan and all the tools you need to help your child make real progress in just 20 minutes a day.

WHAT WE'LL DO TOGETHER

You don’t have to be a reading teacher to help your child make progress. You just need a plan that works.
Here’s how we’ll make that happen.

Step 1: Start with an Assessment

You’ll complete a simple phonics and fluency check, or I’ll walk you through it. This shows us exactly where your child needs support with no guessing and no wasted time.

Step 2: Get an Individualized Plan

I’ll create a custom folder for your child filled with Science of Reading aligned materials including phonics lessons, decodable passages, word mapping sheets, and clear directions for you to follow. Everything you need will be organized and ready - no prep, no guessing, and no overwhelm.

Step 3: Practice for 20 Minutes a Day

Each day, you’ll follow a short, structured routine that’s easy to stick with:

  • 2 minutes of phonemic awareness practice

  • 3 minutes of sight word or word mapping work

  • 5 minutes focused on the target phonics skill

  • 10-15 minutes rereading decodable texts for fluency

This simple plan gives your child consistent, focused practice with the exact skills they need to grow. You’ll know exactly what to do each day and when your child is ready to move on.

Step 4: Stay Connected and Supported

You’ll have direct text access to me during the week for quick questions or encouragement.
If you need more guidance, you can schedule a quick call or Zoom check-in anytime.
We’ll celebrate growth together and adjust the plan as your child progresses.

We’re giving you a plan in exchange for your commitment of just 20 minutes a day, but you won’t be doing this alone. We’ll be in constant communication. If your child is ready for more fun or needs a change of pace, I’ll add games, activities, and extra practice materials to your folder.

Our goal is to create an individualized plan for your child and for you that brings progress without the overwhelm.

The Result

No more tears or frustration.
You’ll finally have a clear path forward, and your child will start reading with accuracy, confidence, and joy.

WHY THIS WORKS

Your child’s reading struggles aren’t a mystery. They’re neurological.

That’s good news because once we understand how the brain learns to read, we can teach it effectively.

1. FLUENCY TAKES REPETITION

Struggling readers need 20 or more successful repetitions to store a new phonics pattern in long-term memory. Tutoring once a week isn’t enough. Daily 20-minute sessions give the brain the repetition it needs.

2. READING MUST BE SEQUENTIAL AND SYSTEMATIC

Reading success builds rule by rule: short vowels, blends, silent e, r-controlled vowels, vowel teams, and more.
Each level includes clear instruction, mapping, and multiple opportunities to practice until fluent.

3. SCIENCE OF READING: HOW THE BRAIN LEARNS

Reading doesn’t happen naturally. The brain creates new neural pathways when it connects sounds to letters.
Our structured routine activates those pathways every day through phonics, mapping, and decodable reading.

4. ORTHOGRAPHIC MAPPING MAKES READING AUTOMATIC

Fluent readers don’t guess. They recognize letter-sound patterns instantly because those words have been mapped in the brain’s visual word form area.
Your child will map and write words daily so they stick permanently.

5. MOST STRUGGLING READERS STRUGGLE WITH PHONEMIC AWARENESS - AND IT'S TEACHABLE!

About 70 percent of children develop phonemic awareness naturally. The other 30 percent don’t, and that difference is often genetic. But phonemic awareness can be taught. Your child doesn’t have to struggle.

Every session begins with 2–3 minutes of phonemic awareness games like:
“Say cat. Now change /k/ to /h/. What’s the new word?” → hat.

These simple daily activities train the brain to hear, segment, and blend sounds. This is the foundation every confident reader needs.

I Get It - I’m Not for Everyone!

If you give me a call, you might hear a kid yelling for soccer shorts.
If you call in the evening, I’m probably hauling a car full of teens.
And yes, there’s even a chance Beck might run through a Zoom call in his swimming trunks. (It’s happened before.)

Real life is messy, and that’s okay. I work with real families, and I know what it’s like to juggle it all.

Once we talk and discuss the plan for your child, if you’re not completely confident and excited about our next steps, I’ll fully refund your setup fee. No pressure, no hard feelings, just a mom and teacher who truly wants to see your child succeed.
